Social Security Disability
Question:
I am a chronic pain sufferer from failed back surgeries. I have arachnoiditis, spinal stenosis, permanent nerve damage among all the other things that come along with this. I have four specialists that say that I am permanently disabled. I draw social security disability. One of my doctors mentioned that a spinal cord stimulator might help a little. I am wondering if I have this put in what Soc. Sec. Disability will say? There is no way that I can work in this pain.

This is susan, not Joani. (usually I just lurk)(EL Jefe, Can I come on the w’mobile?) I have arachnoiditis from four surgeries. I know what you’re going through. I have recently found a group called Circle of Friends with Arachnoiditis. They are a caring and supportive group. I have learned a lot from them, and made new cyber friends. I highly recommend joining the group. They don’t have a newsgroup, but keep in touch through e-mail. To join go to Many of them have the spinal cord stimulator, and can tell you more about it. ( I don’t have one, yet ). It will probably make the pain less, but not make you well enough to work. I have been totally disabled since 1981 (workers Comp). Please e-mail if you have more questions, or if I can help, or if you just need to rant. We all have those days ! susan
